Welcome Page

Welcome to the learning portfolio for Shawn Powers for UMUC edX IDT100x Instructional Design and Technology: Learning Theories.

As noted in my blogger profile, I am the Associate Dean in the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). I work at University College, the residential unit of SNHU. As Associate Dean I oversee many of the operations for SAS. Those responsibilities can mostly be summarized as helping students and faculty be successful in their endeavors.

This blog was created in partial fulfillment of the UMUC edX course Instructional Design and Technology: Learning Theories. I am taking this course in the hope of earning a Micromasters in Instructional Design and Technology. Given the circumstances surrounding higher education and its probable need to pivot between F2F and remote learning over the near future, a credential in Instructional Design can only help our school be more responsive to the curricular and emotional needs our our students.
